Sudan Humanitarian Fund Annual Report 2025
Country: Sudan Source: UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Please refer to the attached file. LETTER FROM THE HC The humanitarian world has shifted over the last decade, and the humanitarian reset and the push for localization mean that funding streams must adapt accordingly; the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF) remains an important instrument for translating collective humanitarian priorities into action. Donors contributed US$169.3 million to the Fund in 2025, enabling allocations of approximately US$167.5 million and reported assistance to more than 13 million people. In 2025, people across Sudan endured another year of devastating conflict, displacement, hunger, disease and the continued erosion of essential services. The Fund released resources throughout the year through standard allocations, targeted reserve allocations, the Rapid Response Mechanism and Mutual Aid Group grants, responding to changing needs while operating under severe access, funding and accountability constraints. This included support to famine-affected areas, cholera preparedness and response, displacement from Zamzam and El Fasher, and emergency mine action. The SHF was used to support co…

Overcoming Barriers to Integration for Sudanese Refugees in Chad: Education, Employment and Land Access [EN/AR]
Countries: Chad, Sudan Source: Stockholm International Peace Research Institute Please refer to the attached files. In 2024, SIPRI and its partner BUCOFORE carried out research showing that refugee women and girls in the Chad–Sudan border region face considerable threats to their safety, and existing protection measures are inadequate. The research also found that the socioeconomic integration of Sudanese refugee women is constrained by limited access to education, economic opportunities and land. Incorporating insights from seminars held in 2026, this fact sheet expands on these three key findings from the research and examines their implications in the context of underfunding and a protracted humanitarian crisis. It aims to guide donors in their decision making and support targeted, effective interventions that boost local resilience and refugee integration. This fact sheet is part of a set of two that explore key findings of the SIPRI report Through Their Eyes: Experiences of Displaced Sudanese Women and Girls in Eastern Chad. World: When people are missing from humanitarian data, they are not missing from the crisis
Country: World Source: ODI - Humanitarian Practice Network Lassi Murto A person who is not registered, not in the queue, not in the shelter, not in the distribution list and not in the feedback system may be treated as unknown. But unknown does not mean unaffected. Missing from the data does not mean missing from the crisis. For people with disabilities, this distinction can be a matter of survival. Humanitarian actors have become more aware of disability data gaps. This is important. Without better data, people with disabilities remain invisible in needs assessments, targeting, protection analysis, accountability systems and programme design. But the problem is not only that disability is undercounted. The deeper problem is how humanitarian systems interpret absence. Too often, missing data is treated as a technical weakness to be corrected later: the form was incomplete, the registration process did not ask the right question, the sample was too small, or the database could not disaggregate properly. These are real issues. But absence can also be operational evidence. It can tell us that the response has not yet reached the people most dependent on protection, assistance and cont…
