What it covers

  • National registers, each queried at the register itself rather than through an aggregator.
  • Registration numbers, which identify a company where a name does not.
  • Former names, so a company renamed after a difficult year is findable under the old one.
  • Status: dissolved, in liquidation, bankrupt — usually the most relevant thing on the record.

What this will not do

  • Nothing behind a login, a paywall or an access control. If reaching it means defeating something, it is not searched.
  • No leaked or breached data, and nothing bought from a broker who will not say where it came from.
  • A record found is a record in that register. It is not a finding about the person, and it is never a conviction.
  • An empty result is not evidence that no record exists — only that the sources listed did not answer with one.

A register records the person named as director on the date it was last written to. That is not necessarily who controls the company, and not necessarily who did last month.
