This is not a first-aid course and completing it certifies nothing.
First aid is a practical skill. It is assessed by watching somebody do it, on a manikin, with an instructor correcting their hands. No amount of reading substitutes for that, and the association will not pretend otherwise — the specification this Academy is built to says so in as many words, and it is the one topic here where being wrong costs somebody more than an embarrassing report.
What this section can honestly offer is context around training you take elsewhere: what the recognised certifications are, how often they need renewing, and what your own force or employer requires of you.
If you are not currently certified, the useful action is to book a course with a recognised provider in your country. Your employer, your national Red Cross or Red Crescent society, and your national resuscitation council all run or list them.
In an emergency, call your emergency number. That is the first step in every recognised protocol in the world, and it is the one thing on this page that is worth memorising.
